Artful Dodger edge - Working?

After taking the edge, I didn't see any echoes while fighting mobs casting on me. Tested against a transmuter in the arena and didn't see any dodges/echoes. So, low on the totem pole as far as urgency, just wondering if it is, in fact, doing what it should. Would it be something that might dodge more like spell evasion for scouts? Thanks.
