Sanctify Self

It may just be me, but on one occassion I've had the lag associated with this supplication outlast the affects of the supplication (of course it's the time I didn't log). Also, I've had the affects end immediately after wording at the end of the lag which could be a bug or by design. I know the lag is supposed to be quite long but just wondering if the two situations described above are by design. Thanks.
