Tahren is blind?

Is it by design that there are certain very powerful magic items that Tahren can't destroy because they are flagged hidden and he can't see them to be given them? *snipped info* Perhaps the gods could give him the ability to see them and be handed them to destroy them? or a prog that he will pick up magic flagged items and destroy them if they are left on the ground next to him? Or is it just ok that there are some he can't get his hands on?
