Violet Spider Redemption Working?

I have this edge but my score damage still shows me vulnerable to holy and unholy. Is it actually working? I am asking because when I fight mobs that have holy/unholy attacks, I feel like I'm taking the same damage as before taking this edge. That may also be just my own poor memory.
