Possible bug with metabolic fortitude edge?

Description

Supposedly it helps me resist poisons and diseases, but as far as I can tell it does nothing against Flaaayin's poisons at all. Either that or I'm just unlucky. Bug? By design? Unlucky? Hoping it's a bug since I asked here before taking the edge and never got a response.
