Maybe my memory is a bit hazy, but I could have sworn communes didn't start combat as a ghost unless they actually did damage.

People doing stupid #### like plaguing up creatures as a ghost because they couldn't be hurt caused me to change that. You're obviously trying to do something offensive, so you get to fight.
