Camouflaging in a courtyard?

It seems that rangers can camouflage in the Fortress courtyard. A mantle of well packed snow cloaks the courtyard, gleaming brightly in the sunlight. Many tracks lead in all directions. Chill mountain winds swirl about, trapped by the massive walls. This area of the courtyard is dominated by a large fountain, glowing faintly and surrounded by a haze of steam. The courtyard continues to the north, east, south and west.
