This is from a log on Dio's: Ilunyrt sings 'Demon wings and frightful things The dimmest minds will cloud; Within this grand, oh frightful land Where terrors do abound. A chilling sound I call for you To delight and confound you assembled few!' You yell 'It's horrible...the big pointy teeth...the eyes...Noooooooo!' Weaving through Surrounding the Sunrise, you find cover to hinder a phantasmal killer's attack. The Imperial Vanquisher is covered with bleeding wounds. Not sure if it matters, but the character in question is fighting the Vanquisher only, the bard didn't engage yet.

He is fighting the vanquisher, so anything else that tries to join (whether it be the bard, a frightful fiend, or anyone else) has to pass a sunrise check before they engage. This is by design.
