Request bug?

Description

I requested the silver poleaxe from the paladin in Ysigrath. While I was in request lag, another goodie was able to request the poleaxe. I wielded the poleaxe once my request lag was over and figured the other person would get a message saying that the item was no longer available. To my surprise, the other goodie then wielded the poleaxe, thereby duplicating the item. I'm not sure if this would work on unique items like the hood of repentance, but seems buggy.

The only way this is possible is if the paladin actually had two of them (wielding one, the other in his inventory), otherwise they would have gotten a message about not having one.
