nightgaunt bug

Been having some weird stuff happening with bind nightgaunt. I conjure a nightgaunt, and then when I bind him, he doesn't always fly off after his target, but instead, remains at my side, as a part of my group. I wait, hoping he'll leave on his mission soon, but he doesn't. Eventually, morning rolls around and he's STILL hanging around. I can walk away from my thaumaturgic circle, and he doesn't attack, but just follows me as if he was a pet. As far as I know, he doesn't assist me in a fight (though I had one instance fighting a bard and the bard's songs engaged the gaunt, causing him to fight my archon, elemental, AND my gaunt *shiver*). In the following log, that first nightgaunt stuck around even through the NEXT night and following morning. During the second night, I thought I would try again, only to end up with TWO nightgaunts following me around like pets, and NEITHER of them leaving after the following sun-up.
