Orb of Travel vs Insects

Repost since theres no reply.
Usage of Orb of Travel, is it magical? If it is, shouldn't insect call stop it, since its suppose to stop all magical/commune transportation? If it is not, then what kind of class if Orb of Travel? Commune? Magical? Skill? Etc?
