Now that we've rebooted: Bug Abuse
Description
We're still fixing a couple related bugs, so I'll spare the specifics to deter copycat thinking, but a general reminder:
1) If you notice a bug, you're expected to report it and stop abusing it. This is straight from 'help rules' and enforced just like multi-charring, spam, etc.
2) We understand that you might not realize that something is a bug, and that you probably have to see a bug once or twice before you realize something's amiss. (Exception: If you're obviously creating a very unusual situation and/or taking actions that only make sense if you're trying to exploit a bug, you are less likely to get the benefit of the doubt.)
3) If you're abusing a bug to benefit a character, that's bad. Expect that you will lose much more than the benefit got you. If you're abusing a bug to screw over another player, expect that a denial and/or ban may be in play when you are caught.
The recent good news: We had a quest that was repeatable (and hinted that it was), and only 3 out of the 50 characters who could have exploited it did. Two of those three were one player. So most of you didn't seek out or exploit a loophole, and the other people got moderate-sized punishments.
The recent meh news: Only two people reported that bug. Some people probably didn't grasp the significance, but some people were probably lazy about it.
The recent bad news: Someone else created a scenario where a bug could be used to kill a linkdead (as in, 'gods protect') groupmate. The player admitted it was his intention, and also violated pretty much all of the "What to do when pulled into the Realm of the Dead" guidelines from there. This character no longer exists, and the player is on a very short rope for the future. Expect a very low tolerance for this level of cheating.
